The North East Christian University is an ambitious project (Ministry) of the Council of Baptist Churches in North East India (CBCNEI).The whole of Northeast India had associations with Christianity prior to the Treaty of Yandabu and the British annexation of Asom in 1826. The Northeast India had Christian presence even before the Ahom Raja, Rudra Singh.
